A tragedy struck the Dallas Police Department on Thursday night when one officer was fatally shot and two others were wounded in Oak Cliff. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 900 block of E. Ledbetter Drive, where officers responded to an officer in distress call.

Upon arrival, officers found one of their own shot in a patrol car. The suspect, who was later shot and killed by officers after a high-speed chase, emerged from a vehicle with a long gun.

Suspect Killed After Pursuit into Lewisville
The suspect led police on a miles-long pursuit to Lewisville, where he was eventually shot and killed by officers.
