The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater community is mourning the loss of senior gymnast Kara Welsh, a national champion and two-time All-American, who tragically passed away on August 30, 2024.

A Senseless Shooting Claims a Life

Welsh, 21, of Plainfield, Ill., was fatally shot in an off-campus apartment in Wisconsin. Authorities have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
