Ricky Pearsall Released from Hospital After Being Shot in San Francisco
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has been released from the hospital after recovering from a bullet wound to his chest. The rookie wide receiver was shot during an attempted robbery in San Francisco's Union Square on Saturday.
A Close Call for Pearsall
Pearsall, who turns 24 on September 9, was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries. According to reports, San Francisco Police Department Sergeant Harrell played a crucial role in saving Pearsall's life, reassuring him that he wasn't going to die from the gunshot wounds.
A Promising College Career
Pearsall began his college career at Arizona State before transferring to Florida for his final two seasons. He had 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns last season for the Gators, finishing his college career with 159 catches for 2,420 yards and 14 TDs.
The 49ers selected Pearsall with the 31st pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, valuing his route running, hands, and toughness. His strengths and weaknesses made him an attractive pick for the team.
A Long Road to Recovery
The 49ers have placed Pearsall on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List, which means he will miss at least the first four games of his rookie season. The earliest he could return is Sunday, October 6, against the Arizona Cardinals.
We wish Ricky Pearsall a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the field soon.
